Parent Involvement

Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.

Boundary Map For NELL Eligibility

Baseball League Age Matters!

Little League of America creates an age chart that helps us make sure that we are placing the kids in the age-appropriate league. Our divisions do have overlap to account for skill, but there are age limits for each division.

Scholarship Applications

Northeast Little League Scholarship Program

Introduction

Northeast Little League believes it is our obligation to provide each child who wishes to play baseball or softball the opportunity to do so regardless of financial circumstances.

The Northeast Little League Scholarship Program exists to provide assistance, based on need and ability, with the costs of baseball and softball, including the following three areas:

  • Full registration fees;
  • Partial registration fees; and,
  • Equipment required to participate in baseball and/or softball play.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Those seeking a scholarship must explain the nature of the hardship and/or provide documentation supporting the request. Specifically, to be eligible for a scholarship the applicant must provide a detailed explanation of the financial hardship with supporting documentation such as an approved Free or Reduced Lunch Application approved by your child’s school.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

The scholarship request process is very straightforward. To ensure proper due diligence, every scholarship request is examined and assessed on its own merit.

Send an email to scholarship@northeastll.com.  Indicate the level of your application, either Full, Partial or equipment. Complete the hardship explanation and submit supporting documentation.

You will be notified regarding the results of your application within seven (7) days.

Terms and Conditions

If the scholarship request is approved, the following terms and conditions will apply:

  1. A registration form must be completed for the player.
  2. The player must meet all residence and proof age requirements (all required documents must be submitted prior to or with the scholarship application)
  3. The scholarship covers the registration fees only for one season in all or in part.
  4. Parent or legal guardian agrees to “re-pay” the League through volunteering for Fund raising, League functions and activities (for ex, helping with Opening Day, working the snack bar, helping with teams, etc) if so requested.

Uniform Information

Baseball Uniforms
Included in the registration fee is a team jersey and cap. Shirt size is submitted at online registration. Players will receive a “small/medium” cap if they wear a youth jersey and a “one size fits most” cap if they wear an adult jersey. Each team is allowed three staff uniforms.

All players will have their player number (requested during online registration) on their jersey. The Majors and Junior divisions’ players will have their last name on their jersey as well. The cost to replace a jersey due to the miss-spelling of the player’s name at online registration is $15.

To accommodate the lower registration fee during Fall Ball, baseball players and coaches receive tee shirts as opposed to jerseys.

Softball Uniforms
Included in the registration fee is a team jersey and visor. Shirt size is submitted at online registration. Visors are “one size fits most”. Each team is permitted three staff uniforms.

All players will have their player number (requested during online registration) on their jersey. Majors division jerseys will include the player’s last name. The cost to replace a jersey due to the miss-spelling of the player’s name at online registration is $15.

Late Registrations
Uniforms are ordered two weeks prior to the first game of the season. Any player registered during the two weeks preceding Opening Day will receive their uniform in the two weeks following Opening Day. Late fees for registration assist in offsetting additional freight charges for uniforms.

Extra Uniforms
A duplicate jersey may be ordered for any player or coach by submitting a Merchandise Order form (available online) complete with payment.

Tournaments
Baseball and softball players and coaches selected for post-season play will be asked to contribute the cost of their uniform for that tournament.
